The seated cable row is a pulling exercise that generally works the back muscles, especially the latissimus dorsi, also known as the "back muscles." The rhomboid muscles between the shoulder blades are also worked through this movement. The seated cable row also works the trapezius muscles in the back of the neck, shoulders, and upper back. This movement also works the forearm and upper arm muscles, as the biceps and triceps act as dynamic stabilizers for this movement.
