How To Use Hip Thrust Machine?

  1. 1.Load plates onto the machine’s bars.

  2. If you want to increase the weight, you can add more plates to each barbell. Just make sure to use the same number of plates on each side of the machine for the most balanced workout.

  3. 2.Secure the strap or padded bar over your hips

  4. If you are only doing bodyweight hip thrusts, then you don’t need to use a padded bar or bands since you are not lifting weights.

  5. 3.Press your back and shoulders into the back support

  6. The size of the back support may vary depending on the machine you are using. If the support is not long enough to reach your lower back, then simply rest your shoulder blades on it. Pay special attention to keeping your back straight throughout the exercise.

  7. 4.Position your feet shoulder-width on the foot rest.

  8. If you want to work your hamstrings or lower back muscles, try placing your feet higher on a footstool.

  9. 5.Lift your hips up to raise the weight out of the safety

  10. If you have a hard time lifting your hips, the bar may be too heavy. Try the next smallest weight and see if that makes it easier.

  11. 6.Disengage the safety to work your full range of motion

  12. Once you disengage the safety, you’ll be supporting the weight on your own and it could drop. Have someone nearby to spot you so you don’t get injured.

  13. 7.Drop your hips until they form a 90-degree angle with your body

  14. Avoid letting your hips drop too quickly, as you may injure yourself.

  15. 8.Push the weight up with your hips to finish a rep. 

  16. Push the weight up with your hips to complete one repetition.

  17. 9.Try to do 1–3 sets that are each 6–12 reps. 

  18. If you have trouble completing all reps and sets, try reducing the weight you use.
