It is a very simple machine where you sit down with your legs bent between two thigh pads. You then choose a weight and push your legs outward towards the pads, thus exercising the hip abductors.


While the hip abduction machine looks very similar to the hip adduction machine, you can differentiate between the two by looking at the orientation of the thigh pads.


On a hip abduction machine, the thigh pads will be facing each other. Whereas on a hip adduction machine, they will be facing away from each other
