The reverse hyperextension machine, also known as the RH machine or reverse hyperextension machine, is an exercise machine designed to strengthen the body's posterior chain muscles (including the lower back, glutes, and hamstrings). Reverse hyperextensions are great for working the hamstrings (glutes and hamstrings) and lower back muscles. It was originally developed for competitive athletes to improve muscle strength. In addition, this device is used in the fitness industry as a tool for strengthening the posterior chain muscles and for "stretching" after compression exercises. The anti-hyperextension central support pad has been replaced by a smaller element with rollers at the lower end to improve comfort and reduce interference with the legs in the maximum hip flexion position. Features dual working positions and is equipped with push wheels above the ankle or knee; its large push roller is adjustable in both working positions.
